“He Is Risen!” Easter 2013

Easter 2013 He Is Risen! (audio file) Christ is Risen! What an amazing truth it is that our Savior lives! Leading up to Easter we have been looking at what Jesus has been doing up to his death and resurrection. We have been focussing on his interactions with those closest to Him. We looked at the disciples and how he reset their understanding of the Christ, that He must go to Jerusalem and be killed and on the third day raised from the dead. I cant say enough how important it is for us to see that truth in our own … Continue reading “He Is Risen!” Easter 2013

James 2:14-26 “Faith and Works”

Fifth week of James. Last week we looked at how showing partiality to people based on their outward appearance is putting ourselves on the judgment seat, dishonoring to the people we look down on, and makes us liable for judgment. Most of all, the judgement of man is without mercy, however, the mercy of God triumphs over judgement.   This week we are looking at another difficult passage in James. Has anyone in here ever tried to buckle a kid into one of those new car seats? The ones with the two metal peices that are supposed to fit together … Continue reading James 2:14-26 “Faith and Works”

James 1:19-26 “Do as I Say and As I Do”

We are now in our third week of our study of the book of James. Last week we looked at how James reminds us to be joyful when we encounter trials of various kinds because our trials are not obstacles to our growth, they are the means of our growth as believers. Gospel 4- Justification b

Gospel 4-Justification B (audio file) Here we are in the fourth week of a series of messages on the Gospel.  We have been looking at scripture to understand what the gospel is, and what it does. The first week we looked at a broad view if what the Gospel is: that God created to point us to him, we responded by worshipping the creation, God gave us the law to reveal our sinfulness, and then he responded by fulfilling the law in Jesus.  We then looked at Ephesians 2 and saw how we are reborn when we are saved, that we … Continue reading Gospel 4- Justification b

Gospel 3- Justification a

Gospel 3- Justification A (audio file) Before we get started this morning, I just want to say a few words about the new position that I will be starting July 1.  First of all, I am incredibly humbled to have the opportunity to be your pastor. It is the next step in a journey that has been a long time in the making, for my family and for this church family. One thing that has stuck out to me is just how intricately it seems God has caused the turn of events that brought us together.  I thank the Lord for … Continue reading Gospel 3- Justification a
